Easy living was the inspiration for this beautiful residence

This split level home is a contemporary inspired standout. It was designed and built by Oppidan Homes to promote easy living in its structural design and infuse a light and bright, atmosphere as per the client’s request. The home includes four bedrooms, a formal lounge and dining area and a meals and family room. Oppidan Homes also incorporated a laundry and double garage with storage to fill the requirements of an everyday space.

The owners were ready to scale down. After living in a two-storey home for many years they were after a design that embraced simplicity. As you walk into the home you’ll notice the unique split level design. On the upper level you’ll find the bedrooms while the living areas come to life down the steps on the lower area.

The main bedroom is a calming escape that includes a large dressing room and ensuite with poolside views. It’s flooded with natural light that seeps through floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Glass doors lead out to the poolside, under the verandah, for easy access to this serene space.

Three bathrooms pepper the home including a separate guest WC. They’re designed with convenience in mind with prevalent features such as double basins, clean lines and plenty of natural light. The flooring throughout plays on the idea of ‘easy living’, with either travertine or carpet, for simple maintenance and a modern finish.

The hub of the structure is an open design that allows interaction with the dining area and includes a picturesque view of the outdoors. With the abundance of windows present throughout, this is a space that fills with natural light and nurtures a sense of flow and cohesion throughout the kitchen, dining and living zones. Both the benchtop and splashback are Corian and the cabinetry is Polyurthane for both durability and a sleek, contemporary look.

A unique feature of the dwelling is the way it marries the indoor lifestyle with the outdoor. This request from the owners was successfully achieved by Oppidan Homes and is a highlight of the project. A covered verandah with an electronically operated roof gives shelter to an entertaining outdoor area. By opening the glass bi-fold stackable sliding doors an instant extension to the home is achieved and the outdoor room becomes part of the indoor area and vice versa.

The entertaining space was designed and built around the pool to embody a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. Here you’ll find a built-in barbecue with an extractor fan and bar fridge, conveniently positioned close to the kitchen, to allow the owners to take full advantage of their outdoor room. Alongside the outdoor eating area is a lounge suite that caters to the quiet days that are leisurely spent relaxing outdoors. To unwind and make the most of the area, a television has even been recessed into the wall and, because it’s outside with the elements, it’s covered by Perspex doors when not in use to ensure its protection.

It’s important to make sure your home suits your lifestyle. As time goes by and families grow the time to switch structure style is prevalent. This beautiful design by Oppidan Homes successfully achieves this transition with its focus on easy living, simple lines and inspiring use of space.
